Politik, Bildung und Biografie: zum Zusammenhang von politischer Gelegenheitsstruktur und individuellem Bildungsaufstieg

Abstract

Im Beitrag wird am Beispiel der Untersuchung von Bildungsaufsteiger(inne)n dem Zusammenhang von politischer Gelegenheitsstruktur und habituellen Praxen nachgegangen. Die theoretische Konzeption der Biografie ermöglicht es hier, die Makroebene gesellschaftlicher Rahmenbedingungen mit der Mesoebene administrativer Entscheidungen und der Mikroebene individueller Handlungspraxen zu verbinden. Um in der biografischen Analyse möglichst nah an der auf eine Makroebene fokussierenden theoretischen Konzeption der politischen Gelegenheitsstruktur zu verbleiben, wird ein methodisches Verfahren vorgestellt, das als theorieorientierte Fallrekonstruktion bezeichnet werden kann. Dieses ermöglicht es, die Grundlogik fallrekonstruktiven Arbeitens weitestgehend aufrechtzuerhalten und trotzdem ein größeres Sampling in die Analyse einzubeziehen.

The article examines the relationship between political opportunity structure and habitual practices with regard to first-generation academics. Biography as a theoretical concept allows the connection of the macroscopic view of social circumstances with the mesoscopic view of administrative decisions, and the microscopic view of individual practices. To keep the biographical analysis as close as possible to the theoretical concept of political opportunity structure, which has a macroscopic focus, I present a method of theory-oriented case reconstruction. This method maintains the fundamental logic of case reconstruction methods, yet makes it possible to include larger samples in the analysis.

Este artículo analiza la relación entre la estructura política de oportunidad y las prácticas habituales con relación a los académicos de primera generación. La biografía como un concepto teórico permite la conexión de la perspectiva macroscópica de las circunstancias sociales y la visión mesoscópica de las decisiones administrativas con la visión microscópica de las prácticas individuales. Para mantener el análisis biográfico lo más cercano posible al concepto teórico de estructura política de oportunidad, que tiene un enfoque macroscópico, presento un método de reconstrucción de caso orientado a la teoría. Este método mantiene la lógica fundamental de los métodos de reconstrucción de casos, aunque permite incluir muestras mayores en el análisis.
