Mit Blick auf das narrative und das problemzentrierte Interview als zwei prominente Interviewverfahren und ergänzt um Anmerkungen zum episodischen, themenzentrierten und personzentrierten Interview erfolgt die Auseinandersetzung mit dem "existenziellen Interview", das Reiner Seidel als neue Methode für den Themenbereich "Biographie" vorschlägt. Vor dem Hintergrund eingeführter und elaborierter Interviewverfahren wird angemahnt, dass mit dem existenziellen Interview kein erkennbar eigenständiges Verfahren vorgelegt wurde. Festgemacht wird dies insbesondere an der fehlenden Bereichsspezifität bzw. Abgrenzung zu vorliegenden Verfahren sowie den fehlenden Ableitungen für die Interviewpraxis.... view less

After some remarks on the "narrative" and "problem-centered" interview as the two prominent kinds of interviews in Germany – fleshed out with additional remarks on the "episodic", "theme-centered" and "person-centered" interview – a critical review of the "existential interview" is presented. In contrast to the previously mentioned kinds of interviews, the existential interview (introduced and developed by Reiner Seidel) is not an elaborated method. Because of too general a view in Seidel's explanations, weaknesses are found in the lack of a clear specific area of research compared to existing kinds of interviews and suggestions are missing regarding interview practice as based in the specific theoretical background of the existential interview in phenomenology.... view less
