'Seit vielen Jahrzehnten verlagert sich das Krankheits- und Sterbegeschehen in den industrialisierten Gesellschaften von den Akutkrankheiten auf die chronisch-degenerativen Krankheiten. Die spezifischen Merkmale chronisch-degenerativer Krankheiten werden herausgearbeitet und ihre Implikationen in bezug auf das klassische Krankenrollen-Konzept von Parsons diskutiert. Besondere Probleme bereitet die medizinische Kausalanalyse dieses Krankheits- und Sterblichkeitstyps. 'For many decades, the focus of morbidity and mortality in industrialized societies has been shifting from acute to chronic and degenerative diseases. The chracteristics of chronic degenerative diseases are worked out and their implications for Parsons' sickrole concept are discussed. Particular problems arise in the medical analysis of the causes of these diseases. The increasing trends toward individualization have made it much more difficult to examine the subjective interpretations by sick people themselves.' (author's abstract)|... view less
