Vorgänger-Nachfolger-Übergänge in institutionellen und interpersonalen Bezügen: die Entwicklung einer Theorie des Transfers persönlicher Objekte

Abstract

In diesem Beitrag wird der Entwurf einer sozialwissenschaftlichen Theorie zu Vorgänger-Nachfolger-Übergängen in sozialen (institutionellen, interpersonalen) Kontexten vorgestellt: Leiter/in- bzw. Besitzer/inwechsel in Familienunternehmen, bei Universitätslehrstühlen, in Partnerschafts- bzw. Familien-Konstellationen, auch bei Körperorganen – um einige prominente Anwendungsmöglichkeiten dieser Theorie zu nennen. Der dabei herausgearbeitete Kernbegriff heißt "Transfer persönlicher Objekte" – und es geht um den Verfügungswechsel solcher Objekte, die sich für ihre/n jeweilige/n Besitzer/in durch identifikatorisch-identitäre Relevanz auszeichnen. Es werden einige theoretische Dimensionen der Kategorie ausdifferenziert. Methodologisch lässt sich dieser Entwurf als "formale Grounded Theory" verstehen: Durch den Vergleich unterschiedlicher empirischer Felder und Fälle entsteht auf hermeneutischem Weg eine Disziplinen umspannende sozialwissenschaftliche Kategorie, die zur Konzeptualisierung der Entwicklungsdynamik interpersonaler, sozialer, institutioneller Strukturen herangezogen werden kann – speziell bezüglich der Verquickung und des Zusammenspiels materieller und symbolischer Komponenten, des Individuellen und des Sozialen sowie von Vergangenheit und Zukunft.

In this article I present an outline of a theory of the transitions between a predecessor and a successor in institutional and interpersonal social contexts. Some of these include the change of a head, chairperson, principal, or owner of a family firm, the changeover in a university chair, in spouse- or family-relations, even the exchange of body organs trough transplantation. The core concept of the theory is "transfer of personal objects," which denotes the change in disposal of certain objects that have a relevant meaning for the possessor's identification and identity. In this article, I specify several theoretical dimensions of the concept. Methodologically the approach employed may be regarded as a "formal grounded theory": Through the comparison of different empirical cases and domains and in a hermeneutical manner, a comprehensive social scientific category emerges that may be used to conceptualize the developmental dynamics of interpersonal, social, and organizational structures. The application of the concept pertains especially to the amalgam and interplay of the material and the symbolic, the individual and the social, and the past and the future.

En este artículo presento un esbozo de una teoría de transiciones entre antecesores y sucesores en contextos sociales institucionales e interpersonales. Algunos de ellos incluyen desde el cambio del jefe, director o dueño de una empresa familiar, la transición en una oficina universitaria, transiciones en relaciones matrimoniales y familiares, hasta el intercambio de órganos por medio de transplantes. El concepto central de la teoría es el de "transferencia de objetos personales", que denota el cambio en la disposición de ciertos objetos que tienen un sentido relevante para la identificación y la identidad del poseedor. En este artículo, especifico algunas dimensiones teóricas del concepto. Hablando en términos metodológicos se trata de un enfoque que puede llamarse una "teoría fundamentada formal": Por medio de la comparación de diferentes casos y dominios empíricos, de manera hermenéutica, se origina una categoría de ciencia social comprensiva que puede usarse para la conceptualización de la dinámica de estructuras interpersonales, sociales, institucionales. La aplicación del concepto pertenece especialmente a la mezcla y combinación de componentes materiales y simbólicos de lo individual y lo social, y del pasado y el futuro.
