Das Datenkonzept von ATLAS.ti und sein Gewinn für "Grounded-Theory"-Forschungsarbeiten

Abstract

Qualitative data analysis software is quite similar regarding the fundamental steps and procedures of data analysis, but the way in which the results of the analysis are stored is different. This article focuses on the fit of grounded theory methodology (GTM) and a network-like storage, as is used in ATLAS.ti. Using data from an ongoing research study as an example, a description is provided of how the analytical steps of GTM are implemented in ATLAS.ti and how results are stored as a net of nodes. This code net represents the developed "grounded theory" as structured conceptualized information. Exported as an XML file the code net can be used in other applications by other researchers. This has the potential to support data quality and scientific cooperation between qualitative researchers.

El software de análisis de datos cualitativos es muy similar con respecto a los pasos y procedimientos fundamentales de análisis de datos, pero es diferente la forma en que los resultados del análisis se almacenan. Este artículo se centra en el ajuste de la metodología de teoría fundamentada (MTF) y el almacenamiento parecido a una red, como es usado en ATLAS-ti. Se brinda una descripción sobre como los pasos analíticos de la MTF son implementados en ATLAS-ti y como los resultados se almacenan como una red de nodos, usando datos de una investigación en curso como ejemplo. Este código-red representa la "teoría fundamentada" desarrollada como información conceptualizada y estructurada. Exportada como un archivo XML el código-red puede usarse en otras aplicaciones por otros investigadores. Esto tiene el potencial de apoyar la calidad de los datos y la cooperación científica entre investigadores cualitativos.

Computerprogramme zur Unterstützung der Analyse qualitativer Daten sind sich in ihrer Grundfunktionalität sehr ähnlich. Unterschiedlich ist allerdings, in welcher Form die Ergebnisse der Analysetätigkeit gespeichert werden. Dieser Beitrag thematisiert die Passung zwischen der Grounded-Theory-Methodology (GTM) und einer netzwerkartigen Speicherung der Ergebnisse, wie sie in ATLAS.ti realisiert wird. Am Material eines Forschungsprojektes wird gezeigt, wie die unterschiedlichen Kodiertypen der GTM in ATLAS.ti ausgeführt und die Ergebnisse als ein Netz von Kodes abgespeichert werden. Herausgestellt wird, dass das Kode-Netz die entwickelte "Grounded Theory" als strukturierte, auf den Begriff gebrachte Information repräsentiert und in maschinenlesbarer Form anderen Forschenden zur Verfügung gestellt werden kann. Dieses Potenzial erweitert die Möglichkeiten der Qualitätssicherung und der wissenschaftlichen Kooperation zwischen qualitativ Forschenden.
