'In diesem Beitrag werden aktuelle Fragen des heutigen geistigen und gesellschaftspolitischen Lebens in Rußland erörtert. Insbesondere geht es um Fragen der Religiösität, der konfessionellen Toleranz, der Einstellung der Bevölkerung zum Gesetz der Russischen Förderation über die Glaubensfreiheit, der öffentlichen Meinung über die Durchsetzung dieses Gesetzes sowie die Beteiligung der Geistlichen am politischen Leben. Basis der Ergebnisse sind Bevölkerungsbefragungen in acht Regionen des Landes sowie Experteninterviews. 'In this article we are discussing some topical questions of the contemporary spiritual and socio-political life of Russia. We are especially dealing with problems of religiosity, confessional tolerance, the people's attitude towards the 'Law of the Russian Federation on religious liberty' the public opinion on the said law's implementation and on the clergy's participation in political life. The results are based on several opinion polls from eight regions of the country, supplemented by interviews with experts. The field enquires were carried through by the 'Religion in Modern Society' research center of the Independent Russian Institute of Social and National Problems in 1993.'
