Das Regime des engen Blickes: zur Dekonstruktion des Begriffs der Zukunftsperspektive

Abstract

Im Rahmen einer Überprüfung der identitätstheoretischen Diskussion auf in ihr eingelagerte Bestände einer rationalen Moderne wird, von der Identitätsforschung her kommend, die Frage der subjektiven Konstruktion von Zukunft erörtert. Implizite Voraussetzung ist dabei die These, dass subjektive Konstruktionen von Zukunft nur im Kontext der Veränderungen der gesellschaftlichen Konstruktion von Zukunft diskutiert werden können. Zwei Begriffe werden genauer untersucht: Zum einen wird der Projektbegriff analysiert, so wie er im Konzept des "Identitätsprojekts" Verwendung findet. Ausgehend von der Offenlegung seiner rationalistischen Basis werden alternative bzw. ergänzende Lesarten erprobt. Dazu wird auch auf die entscheidungstheoretische Diskussion Bezug genommen. Der zweite Begriff ist der der Zukunftsperspektive. An ihm wird insbesondere auch seine Einengung auf ein zentralperspektivisches Verständnis diskutiert, das für eine spezifische Wahrnehmungsorganisation gesellschaftlicher und subjektiver Welten steht. Abschließend werden unter Bezugnahme auf die Zeittheorie von G. Gurvitch Überlegungen zur Frage der Multiplizität und Vereinigung von subjektiven Zeiten angestellt.

This article is a contribution to the inquiry into the foundations of psychological identity theory within the ideas and concepts of a rational modernity. Special emphasis is placed on the individual construction of future time perspective. This deconstructive effort rests on the thesis that the subjective construction of future time can only be analysed within the context of the social construction of future time and its change. Two concepts are central to the discussion. One is the concept of a "project", as it is used in the idea of the "identity project". The second is the psychological concept of future time perspective. It will be demonstrated, that when deciding on a specific "scopic regime" (Jay 1992) the element of choice is usually ignored, resulting in an uncritical use of Cartesian perspectivism. This choice leads to an organisation of time perception in social and individual worlds, which is typical of a rational modernity. After deconstructing the rationalist basis of these concepts, alternative readings are proposed. Finally, questions of the multiplicity and unification of subjective time are discussed with regard to Gurvitch's theory of time.
