Anhand biographischer Interviews werden die Motive von sechs Psychotherapeuten untersucht, sich einem spirituell orientierten Weg zuzuwenden und spirituelle Werte und Methoden in ihr westliches Therapiekonzept zu integrieren. Auffälligstes Ergebnis ist die Argumentation der Notwendigkeit von Spiritualität bzw. Religiosität für den therapeutischen Prozess, verbunden mit einer großen Offenheit für das Weltbild des Klienten. Die befragten Therapeuten lehnten es ab, eine spirituelle Perspektive von sich aus einzubringen; dennoch ist in ihren Aussagen eine Vermischung des beabsichtigten Therapieziels des Klienten mit dem eigenen spirituellen Lebensziel festzustellen. Diese - wenn auch subtile - Einflussnahme auf das Menschenbild des Klienten wird anhand der auf alle Therapieschulen anwendbaren Frage, inwieweit ideologische Neutralität in der therapeutischen Arbeit überhaupt realisiert werden kann, diskutiert.... view less

On the basis of biographic interviews, the motives of psychotherapists to turn toward a spiritual oriented way and to integrate eastern values and methods in their western therapeutic concept, were examined. The most noticeable result is the argumentation of a necessity of spirituality or, respectively, religiousness for the therapeutic process, linked with a great openness for the clients conception of the world. The therapists in this study refuse to bring in spiritual perspectives by their selves – yet in the statements of the therapists, a mixing between the intended aim of therapy and their own spiritual aim of life can be detected. This – though subtile – influencing of the client's philosophy of life is discussed by means of the question, applyable to all methods of therapy, how far it is possible to keep ideologic neutrality in the therapeutic work at all.... view less
