Das Auftauchen des unternehmerischen Selbst und seine gegenwärtige Hegemonialität. Einige grundlegende Anmerkungen zur Analyse des (Trans-) Formierungsgeschehens moderner Subjektivierungsweisen

Abstract

Zahlreiche Untersuchungen aus dem Umkreis der Governmentality Studies fragen nach dem aktuellen (Trans-)Formierungsgeschehen moderner Subjektivierungsweisen. Sie konstatieren, dass ein "unternehmerisches Selbst" am Ende der 1970er Jahre aufgetaucht sei und nun hegemonial zu werden scheine. Weshalb aber ist dieses Selbst aufgetaucht und wie konnte es hegemonial werden? Diese bisher noch ungeklärten Fragen verweisen auf eine tiefer liegende Problemstellung: Weitgehend unklar ist nämlich, wie das (Trans-)Formierungsgeschehen moderner Subjektivierungsweisen theoretisch begriffen und empirisch beschrieben werden kann, ohne einerseits substanz-ontologische Auffassungen von Subjektivierung vorauszusetzen und ohne andererseits Subjektivierung diskursiv aufzulösen. Es wird nun vorgeschlagen, dieses (Trans-)Formierungsgeschehen mit Michel FOUCAULT als Effekt dispositiver Praktiken zu begreifen, deren historisch-konkretes Zusammenspiel mit Hilfe von Dispositivanalysen zu untersuchen ist. Allerdings gilt es zuvor, dieses Verfahren ausgehend von FOUCAULTs dispositiven Studien zu rekonstruieren und dann gesellschaftstheoretisch zu fundieren. Denn FOUCAULT hat in seinen Dispositivanalysen soziale Strukturkategorien – wie etwa Klasse, Ethnizität oder Geschlecht – nicht systematisch berücksichtigt. Da mittlerweile einige Studien die geschlechtliche Markierung des unternehmerischen Selbst konstatieren, wird zunächst ein Vorschlag zur gesellschaftlichen Fundierung der FOUCAULTschen Dispositivanalyse ausgehend von der Kategorie Geschlecht formuliert. Die Rekonstruktion einer solchen gesellschaftstheoretisch fundierten Dispositivanalyse kann als methodisch-methodologischer Ausgangspunkt zur Erforschung des (Trans-)Formierungsgeschehens moderner Subjektivierungsweisen dienen. So kann dann auch das eingangs konstatierte Forschungsdefizit bearbeitet werden.

Numerous investigations in the field of Governmentality Studies have sought to understand the contemporary (trans-) formational process underlying the way modern subjectivation is constructed. These studies assert that an "enterprising self" emerged at the end of the 1970s and appears to have become hegemonic. Why did this self emerge and how could it have become hegemonic? This unsolved problem reveals a deep-seated issue: It is completely unclear how the (trans-) formational process underlying modern subjectivation can be theoretically conceptualized and empirically depicted while avoiding both the presupposition of an ontological reduction as well as the pitfall of discursively dissolving subjectivity. It is proposed here to conceive of this (trans-) formational process by applying the investigations of Michel FOUCAULT and to regard this process as an effect of dispositive practices, the historical and concrete interplay of which is thereby appropriately investigated with the help of dispositive analyses. Because FOUCAULT in his dispositive analyses did not systematically investigate socially structuring categories such as class, ethnicity, or gender it is necessary to reconstruct the process of subjectivation by using FOUCAULT's dispositive studies as a starting point and then to ground this in social theory. Since some studies have already posited the attribution of gender to the grounding of the enterprising self, it is necessary here to begin by formulating an outline for the social grounding of the Foucauldian dispositive analysis on the category of gender. The reconstruction of such a dispositive analysis grounded in social theory can serve as a methodological starting point for the investigation of the (trans-) formational process of modern subjectivation. In doing so, the initial research gap in this area can be closed to a certain extent.

Muchos estudios gubernamentales han abordado la formación y transformación de las formas modernas de subjetividad. Esos estudios revelaron la aparición de un "yo empresarial" durante la última parte de los 70s que ahora parece volverse una concepción hegemónica. Pero ¿por qué emergió ese yo y cómo se volvió hegemónico? Esas cuestiones nos llevan a otro problema fundamental como es que todavía no está claro cómo comprender la formación y transformación de la subjetividad moderna sin esencializar o discursivamente disolver la subjetividad. Fundamentándome en FOUCAULT, sugiero teorizar esa formación y transformación de las formas modernas de subjetividad en términos de los efectos de las prácticas de dispositivos. Sin embargo, necesitamos primero reconstruir este método usando los ensayos de Michel FOUCAULT y fundarlo en estudios sociales críticos. Es más, ese método de analizar dispositivos debe extenderse para considerar las categorías de clase, raza y género Dado que algunos estudios ya se dirigieron al yo empresarial femenino, hago un análisis social crítico sobre género. La reconstrucción de la aproximación de FOUCAULT se fundamenta en el análisis social crítico y sirve como una metodología inicial para el estudio de las transformaciones y formaciones de la subjetividad.
