Physische Beeinträchtigungen haben eine Reihe von schwerwiegenden Effekten auf das psychologische und soziale Leben der betroffenen Menschen. Um Psycholog(inn)en und andere Professionelle, die mit der Ausbildung von Jugendlichen mit physischen Beeinträchtigungen befasst sind, in ihrer Arbeit zu unterstützen, haben wir die Guidelines for Non-Discriminatory Practice der kanadischen Psychologischen Gesellschaft (CPA) für diese Zwecke zu (re-) interpretieren versucht. Die Guidelines for Non-Discriminatory Practice treffen sich mit dem kanadischen Code of Ethics für Psycholog(inn)en (CPA, 2001) und beinhalten: I. Respekt für die Würde der Person, II. Verantwortliche Pflege, III. Integrität in Beziehungen und IV. Gesellschaftliche Verantwortung. Zusätzlich werden Beispiele für ethische Dilemmata vorgestellt und diskutiert, die bei der Arbeit mit Jugendlichen mit physischen Beeinträchtigungen entstehen können.... view less

Physical deformity has a number of serious affects on an individuals psychological and social functioning. In order to help psychologists and other professionals involved in the education of youth with physical deformity, we have interpreted the Canadian Psychological Association's (CPA) Guideline's for Non-Discriminatory Practice in this context. The general principles of the Guidelines for Non-Discriminatory Practice are consistent with those of the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists (CPA, 2001) and include: I. Respect for the Dignity of Persons, II. Responsible Caring, III. Integrity in Relationships, and IV. Responsibility to Society. In addition, several examples of ethical dilemmas that may arise through involvement with students with physical deformity are presented and discussed.... view less

La deformidad física afecta seriamente al funcionamiento psicológico individual y social. Para ayudar a los psicólogos y otros profesionales implicados en la educación de jóvenes con deformidades físicas, hemos interpretado las Directrices para la Práctica No Discriminatoria de la Asociación Canadiense Psicológica (CPA) en este contexto. Los principios generales de las Directrices para la Práctica No discriminatoria son compatibles con las del Código Canadiense de Ética para Psicólogos (CPA, 2001) e incluyen: I. Respeto para la Dignidad de las Personas, II. Cuidado Responsable, III. Integridad en las Relaciones, y IV. Responsabilidad hacia la Sociedad.
