Forschen nach Rezept? Anregungen zum praktischen Umgang mit der Grounded Theory in Qualifikationsarbeiten

Abstract

Um eine qualitativ-empirische Untersuchung erfolgreich durchzuführen, bedarf es unter anderem eines adäquaten methodischen Vorgehens. Mit der Grounded Theory liegt eine Methodologie (GTM) vor, die auf den ersten Blick durch ihre gute Strukturiertheit besticht und so gerade auch wenig erfahrene ForscherInnen anspricht. Dringt man jedoch dann im Forschungsprozess in die (möglicherweise ungeahnten) Tiefen dieses methodologischen Rahmenkonzepts vor, so wird meist insbesondere der hohe Anspruch an den Samplingprozess deutlich. Wie sich die Prinzipien der GTM durch einen kreativen Umgang dennoch für Qualifikationsarbeiten (Dissertationen etc.) handhaben lassen, werden wir im Folgenden diskutieren.

A suitable method is absolutely essential in order to carry out qualitative research successfully. Grounded Theory Methodology (GTM) offers a technique that is appealing due to its clear structure and therefore especially appropriate for less experienced researchers. But by using this method the complexity and the demands of sampling process becomes more apparent. In this article, we discuss creative ways of dealing with the principles of GTM in thesis and dissertations.

Para llevar a cabo exitosamente investigación cualitativa es absolutamente esencial un método apropiado. La Metodología de la Teoría Fundamentada (MTF) ofrece una técnica atractiva debido a su estructura clara y, por tanto, es especialmente apropiada para los investigadores menos experimentados. Pero al emplear este método, la complejidad y las dificultades del proceso de muestreo se hacen más evidentes. En este artículo discutimos formas creativas para tratar los principios de la MTF en disertaciones y proyectos de tesis.
