Lenguaje y cultura o lo imaginario y la razón: una aproximación a la hermenéutica simbólica

Abstract

La crisis actual de la razón sociológica es la propia crisis de la razón científico-occidental en su imperio universal sobre el mundo. Las siguientes líneas son un primer acercamiento a la "hermenéutica simbólica", en tanto vertiente radical de pensamiento que se esfuerza por trascender los propios límites de la racionalidad tradicional, centrándose en la aleación polémica entre lenguaje y cultura. La diferencia decisiva entre ambas vertientes -racionalismo y hermenéutica simbólica- se dirime en torno a la captación específica del hombre como homo simbolicus, distinta de la crítica sintomatológica que permanece anclada en el horizonte intercambiable del signo.

The current crisis of sociological thought is the same as that of western-scientific thought which governs the present world. This paper aims to be present a first approch to the "symbolic hermeneutics" as a radical way of thinking which attempts to go beyond the limits of tradicional rationality, focusses on the polemical relationship between language and culture. The crucial difference between rational and symbolic thinking derives from specific understanding of man as homo symholicus, which is different from the symptomatic critic fixed in the interchangable horizont of the sign.
