The current state of Czech higher education can only be understood in the context of the overall state of education & the Czech nation. It could best be described at this time as being in a state of flux. The conditions deserving scholarly attention are centered on several themes. There are issues of concern in the areas of curriculum design, particularly the ideas for the integration of the Academy of Sciences & the university, public & private education, secondary & tertiary education, & within the tertiary level itself.
