Objective: to present the published nursing actions on the prevention of errors in the administration of medications in the ICU. Method: This is a bibliographical research including articles about nursing actions in the prevention of errors in medication administration, published in the period from 2005 to 2011 indexed in the bases: LILACS, BDENF and SCIELO. Results: 13 articles that met the selection criteria were selected and analyzed. It was evidenced that the actions for the prevention of errors in drug administration comprise numerous actions, which were described from each type of error. Conclusion: Nursing should know the types of errors and adopt specific actions to prevent errors in medication administration.... view less
