Objective: To systematize nursing care to an infant with West Syndrome, using the Nomenclature of Diagnoses / Results and Nursing Interventions. Methods: Descriptive study, a case study, conducted at a School Hospital in João Pessoa / Paraíba in October 2010, following the phases of the nursing process. Diagnoses were identified using the Nomenclature of Diagnoses / Results and Nursing Interventions developed and validated for said hospital according to CIPE® terms. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the hospital under CAAE: 0052.0.126.000-09. Results: Six nursing diagnoses were identified: neuropsychomotor impairment, seizure, impaired oral hygiene, altered respiratory pattern, risk of infection, altered family routine. Conclusion: The use of a nomenclature of diagnoses / results and interventions directs the actions of nursing, providing efficiency in the care of children with West syndrome.... view less
