Vor dem Hintergrund siedlungsstruktureller Entwicklungen, divergierender Lebensstile und soziostruktureller Veränderungen gilt es, den markanten Unterschieden im Angebot an Versorgungseinrichtungen, Arbeitsplätzen, Ausbildungseinrichtungen, etc. zwischen ländlichem und urbanem Raum durch innovative und nachhaltige Mobilitätskonzepte zu begegnen. Im Folgenden werden anhand sozialwissenschaftlicher Forschungsmethoden Mobilitätsbedürfnisse unterschiedlicher NutzerInnengruppen sowie alternative Mobilitätskonzepte in Hinblick auf Umsetzungspotenziale untersucht. Zentraler Ansatzpunkt ist die strukturierte Erfassung der Bedeutung der Haltestelle als Zugangspunkt zu diesen alternativen Transportformen, vor allem im ländlichen Raum. Auf Grundlage von Sozialraumanalysen in unterschiedlichen Raumtypen werden vielversprechende Konzepte sowie Anforderungen an eine für alle nutzbare Infrastruktur diskutiert.... view less

The development of recent settlement structures, highly diverse lifestyles and socio-structural changes have lead to significant differences between urban and rural areas in Austria in regards to the availability and supply of services and goods. Here innovative mobility concepts can serve as a basis for the sustainable development of peripheral and rural areas. Based on socio-scientific methodology mobility needs of different user groups are assessed in reference to innovative and sustainable mobility concepts. Main point of interest is the evaluation of public transport stops as the central access point to alternative forms of transportation, especially in rural areas. By conducting social space analyses in different settlement structures most promising transport concepts and requirements, in view of accessible infrastructure, are discussed.... view less
