"There is few knowledge in terms of school attendance of refugees and asylum seekers in Germany. Their educational participation will exemplarily be analyzed for one federal state (Brandenburg) based on school statistics. Official school statistics in Brandenburg base on individual data and provide information for the population of students about their possible status as a refugee or asylum seeker. With regard to their educational participation disadvantages can be found: E.g. they attend less frequently upper secondary schools (Gymnasium) compared to other foreign students."
