Further Details
| Abstract | Analyzes & compares the four elections held between Sept 1997 & Sept 1998 in the four 'Visegrad' countries (Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, & Slovakia), all of which led to a change of government. Focus is on the effect of these elections on the development of party systems, seeking to identify trends across the region. It is noted that the key issue was the restructuring of the Center-Right. It is concluded that party systems remain more unstable than has been thought; the process of restructuring is far from over. |
