(Autorenreferat)... view less

"This article discusses prejudices, stereotypes and discrimination from different perspectives: the theoretical introduction from a sociological perspective frames the socialisational practices of actors within the binary order of gender and desire and highlights selected feminist and queer criticisms. Subsequently, a psychological perspective is applied that proposes the heuristic value of the concept of ambiguity tolerance when analyzing the individual handling of ambiguous situations. Finally, the article employs an empirical perspective that reflects the situation of lgbt* adolescents and young adults. By drawing on data from focus group discussions three common assumptions of unambiguousness were identified. In a concluding outlook the article argues for an interdisciplinary approach of all angles to improve the integration of diversity in the future." (author's abstract)... view less
