The emotions are natural reactions in all the human beings. But although the emotions often have irrational characteristic expressions, it is necessary that they respect the parameters of the functional behavior. This article offers an approach about the relationship between emotion and rationality, looking for the possibility of conceiving a notion of rational love. Las emociones son reacciones afectivas naturales en los individuos y, aunque suelen tener expresiones características, es necesario que la manifestación de la emoción se encuentre dentro de los parámetros de la funcionalidad del comportamiento. Por lo anterior, se busca hacer una aproximación acerca de la relación existente entre la emoción y la racionalidad humana planteando la posibilidad de concebir una noción de amor romántico racional. Para hacer este análisis, se ha utilizado la teoría de la racionalidad de las emociones de Jon Elster y se concluye que la posibilidad de un amor racional recae, en gran medida, en la evaluación de las líneas causales y las creencias que respaldan nuestra concepción del amor.... view less
