"By means of discourse analysis, this article clarifies the discursive contexts of a homepage text of an old age care facility for German-speaking dementia patients as well as its powerful effects for other care facilities. The first part of the article focusses on the concepts of normality with regard to age(ing), dementia and responsible ways of dealing with dementia patients which are called into question or reinforced by the way the care facility is presented in the text. The enunciative discourse analysis examines the production as well as the restructuring of already established knowledge in the context of transnational care constellations, e.g. ideas about the 'right' way of taking care of dementia patients, stereotypes of Thais and Thailand as well as the (in-)significance of home countries. In a second step, the article analyses the adaptability of this enunciative field for comparable facilities for German speaking elderly in Thailand. It thus becomes apparent how discursive knowledge around care, dementia and the migration of this knowledge across the globe - at times of the ever more prevalent prognosis of the ageing of the German population - is shaped and how it circulates. How is it embedded in already established ensembles of utterances around care, dementia, ageing and how are these discursive concepts reconfigured and adapted to the context of Thailand?"
