Abstract 'Die Veränderung der Sozialstruktur der russischen Gesellschaft in den Jahren der Reform ist ein guter Indikator für die Ausrichtung dieser Reformen und liefert eine anschauliche Vorstellung davon, um welchen sozialen Preis, mit welchen sozialen Folgen und in wessen Interessen sie durchgeführt wurden. Der vorliegende Bericht befaßt sich eingehend mit diesem Themenkreis. Er stützt sich dabei auf offizielle statistische Angaben, eine internationale komparative Studie über soziale Ungerechtigkeit (ISSP-92), veröffentlichte Ergebnisse von soziologischen Untersuchungen in Rußland sowie die Resultate zweier thematischer und einiger landesweiter Monitoringuntersuchungen des Russischen Unabhängigen Forschungsinstituts für soziale und nationale Probleme (RUFI) unter Mitwirkung der Verfasserin.' 'Changes in the social structure of Russian society during the years of reform are a good indicator of the direction these reforms have taken. They also reveal in whose interests the reforms were undertaken and provide a vivid picture of their social price and social impact. The present report examines these issues in some detail. It draws on official statistics, an international comparative study on social injustice (ISSP-92), the published findings of sociological studies in Russia and the results of two thematic and several nation-wide monitoring surveys carried out by the Russian Independent Research Institute for Social and National Problems in which the author participated.'
