Abstract	'Der vorliegende Bericht versucht der Frage nachzugehen, inwieweit eine vermeintliche 'Andersartigkeit' Rußlands zu ungünstigen Transformationsergebnissen geführt haben mag. Er ergänzt somit andere BIOst-Publikationen, die eine Auseinandersetzung mit dieser Thematik beinhalten. Um Überschneidungen zu vermeiden, wird hier weniger die Andersartigkeit selbst hinterfragt, als daß die volkswirtschaftlichen Kosten der russischen Transformationsträgheit akzentuiert werden. In diesem Zusammenhang wird in einem weiteren Schritt versucht, auch die außenwirtschaftlichen Kosten zu quantifizieren.' (Textauszug) 'The present report attempts to look into the question as to what extent some alleged 'differentness' on the part of Russia might have caused the transformation process to produce unfavourable results. It thus supplements other publications by the Federal Institute dealing with this topic. To avoid overlapping with other works, the present paper examines not so much the 'differentness' itself but rather focuses on the economic cost of Russia's lethargy in transformation. In this context, the report endeavours in a second step to quantify the cost in terms of Russia's international economic standing.' (extract)
