Abstract 'Die Geopolitik nimmt einen wichtigen Platz im postkommunistischen politischen Diskurs in Rußland ein. In expliziter oder impliziter Form tauchen geopolitische Überlegungen, Argumente und Motive in den Äußerungen der Politiker sowie in wichtigen Programmdokumenten auf. Außerdem entwickelt sich die Geopolitik auch als wissenschaftliche Strömung oder politikwissenschaftliche Teildisziplin. Gleichzeitig existiert eine weltanschaulich gefärbte Geopolitik, die als pure Ideologie zu betrachten ist. Diese Ideenentwicklungen verdienen sowohl aus politischen als auch aus wissenschaftlichen Gründen eine Analyse.' (Textauszug)

'Geopolitics occupies an important place in the post-communist political debate in Russia. Geopolitical considerations, arguments and motives appear in either explicit or implicit form in statements by politicians and in important program documents. In addition, geopolitics is be coming an academic discipline as a branch of political science. At the same time, in certain quarters geopolitics is seen through an ideological prism, thus acquiring the status of pure dog ma. For both political and academic reasons the development of geopolitical ideas is worthy of analysis.' (extract)
