Abstract 'Jedem großen Systemwechsel geht ein Wertewandel voran. Der Wertewandel erklärt letzten Endes die großen Systemveränderungen, weil nur Werte die Menschen zu dauerhaftem und zielstrebigem Handeln anspornen. Dies gilt auch für die gegenwärtige Entwicklung in Rußland. Da der Wertewandel in Rußland auch einen Konflikt, und zwar einen sehr scharfen, von Wertsystemen bedeutet, betrachten wir ihn in einer Reihe von Antithesen, wo hauptsächlich ein kommunistisch-kollektivistischer Wert einem liberal-individualistischen Platz macht.' 'Every great system transformation is preceded by a transformation of values. In the final analysis, it is changes in values that explain great changes in the system, as only values can motivate people to lasting and goal-directed action. This is true of current developments in Russia as well. As the transformation of values in Russia also involves very serious conflicts between different value systems, we perceive them as a series of antitheses in which primarily communist and collectivist values make room for liberal and individualistic ones.'
