Abstract	'Das Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP) gilt neben dem Ressourcenpotential als der hauptsächliche Indikator für die wirtschaftliche Leistungskraft Rußlands. Die Informationen, welche die amtliche russische Statistik (Goskomstat Rossii) zum Bruttoinlandsprodukt zur Verfügung stellt, erfordern Interpretationen und eine Kombination mit weiteren statistischen Daten. Wenn es um internationale Vergleiche geht, sind die von der OECD in Zusammenarbeit mit Goskomstat für Bußland erhobenen Kaufkraftparitäten geeignet, um die statistischen Auswirkungen des weit von der Kaufkraftparität abweichenden Wechselkurses zu korrigieren. Die vorliegende Untersuchung beschäftigt sich mit der Höhe, Struktur sowie Entwicklung des russischen Bruttoinlandsprodukts im Zeitraum 1995-1999. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit wird der internationalen Vergleichbarkeit gewidmet.' (Textauszug) 'The gross domestic product (GDP), along with the country's resources potential, is considered the main indicator of Russia's economic performance capability. The information provided by the official Russian statistics (Goskomstat Rossii) on the gross domestic product requires some interpretation and combination with other statistical data. For the purposes of international comparisons, the purchasing power parities ascertained for Russia by the OECD in co-operation with Goskomstat may expediently be used to correct the undesired statistical effects of an exchange rate that diverges widely from purchasing power parity. The present study deals with the size, structure and development of the Russian gross domestic product in the period from 1995 to 1999. It pays particular attention to international comparability.'
