Abstract	'Vor dem Hintergrund der überwundenen sowjetischen Informationsdiktatur soll in dieser Arbeit auf einige wesentliche Defizite im Bereich der Medien- und Informationsfreiheit im heutigen Rußland hingewiesen werden. Von diesen Defiziten in einem essentiellen Bereich demokratischer Entwicklung gehen nicht nur für die Demokratie, sondern auch für die nationale und staatliche Einheit Rußlands Gefahren aus, die Europa und dem Westen nicht gleichgültig sein können.' (Textauszug) 'This report analyses serious deficiencies in the sphere of freedom of information and of the media in today's Russia after the end of the Soviet information dictatorship. Deficiencies in what is an essential component of democratic development pose a threat not only to democracy but also to the national and state unity of Russia, something to which Europe and the West cannot be indifferent.'
