This article puts forward a model for the analysis of resistance against both communism and fascism in the specific period of time around WWII (1938–48/53). Such a model accommodates the experiences of Eastern and Western Europe, more precisely the fights against various types of fascisms and against the expansion of Soviet-type of communism. This type of analysis integrates different, but interrelated manifestations of resistance: discourses, political actions, military activities and everyday cultural practices.
