(Autorenreferat)
%X "With reference to a case study, this article assesses the format of 'round tables' as an information-, consultation-, and mediation-instrument. In particular, the article examines the suitability of round tables in the field of large infrastructure projects within the context of the German energy transition. Based on 15 criteria - including aspects like the organiser’s legitimacy, questions related to the definition of goals or accompanying public relations - the round table in Atdorf on the planned construction of a pumped-storage plant in the southern Black Forest is used to discuss the conditions in which dialogues are likely to be successful. The paper closes with some recommendations related to public participation possibilities in large infrastructure projects." (author's abstract)
