"A detailed understanding of the patient's concerns as presented to the therapist in her first psychotherapeutic interview is of crucial importance regarding its quality and a possible decision to begin psychotherapy. From a psychodynamic perspective, of interest is not only the explicit dimension which leads to a psychotherapeutic investigation, but also the implicit one. The study presented here takes this fact into consideration by applying a multi-perspective approach: The various dimensions of Alexandra's concerns are determined using four qualitative methods: Content analysis, crediting analysis, JAKOB narrative analysis, and conversation analysis. Based on the analysis of this initial interview, the present study will demonstrate how these four methods with their respective findings contribute, by way of methodological triangulation, to a deeper understanding of Alexandra's concerns."
