Arbeitgeberverbandsaustritte - Motive, Abläufe und Konsequenzen

Abstract

"Austritte aus Arbeitgeberverbänden sind arbeitspolitisch und verbändesoziologisch bisher kaum untersucht worden, nehmen aber seit kurzer Zeit erheblich an Anzahl und Bedeutung zu. Der Beitrag analysiert auf empirischer Basis Gründe, Verläufe und Auswirkungen von Verbandsaustritten in der baden-württembergischen Metallindustrie. Dimensionen der Untersuchung sind Struktur der Unternehmen, Motive, Regelungsformen nach dem Austritt, Prozeß der Austrittsentscheidung, Entwicklung der betrieblichen Arbeitsbedingungen, Bedeutung der Dienstleistungen der Verbände, räumliche Häufung von Austritten, Interessendivergenzen innerhalb der Mitgliedschaft. Zum Abschluß wird die neuere Literatur zu Unternehmerverbänden kritisch mit den empirischen Ergebnissen konfrontiert und relativiert." (Autorenreferat)

"Despite a recent increase in the number and significance of firms leaving employer associations, the problem has received little attention from researchers in labour policies and the sociology of business associations. This article provides an empirical analysis of the reasons, progress, and effects of resignations from employer organisations in the Baden-Württemberg engineering industry. The study focuses on the structure of the firms, their motives, the forms of regulation adopted after leaving, how the decision was made, the development of plant level employment conditions, the significance of services provided by the associations, the geographical spread of resignations, and on differences of interest among the membership. The conclusion provides a critical appraisal of the new literature on business associations in the light of this study." (author's abstract)
