(Autorenreferat) %X "Traditional features of workplaces in the construction and the hotel and catering industries include unstable conditions, decentralization, integration into networks, and high labour turnover. Such conditions cause the firms to adopt „atypical“ forms and complicate the application of the Law on Labour Relations at the Workplace, which is oriented towards the „normal plant“. For this reason, specific forms of interest representation have been established. This article describes the tension between „normal“ and „atypical“ institutional patterns and analyzes the behaviour of the trade unions in these industries. The factors which have contributed to the emergence of industry-specific forms of interest representation are outlined, and the significance for „normal regulation“ of its modification under „atypical“ conditions is explained."
