(Autorenreferat)"The membership of a works council is not homogenous but differentiated with rival groups. The internal structure depends on the type of the works council. The most common type, that maintaining order in the workplace has three sociometric and opinion-groups: the full-time councilors at the head of the body, an opposition group, and in between a group of 'fellow travelers' who normally assist the fulltimers. This structure corresponds to the concepts and senses of justice employees. The full-timers favour the concept justice as 'Equity': rewards should be distributed proportionately to different efforts and inputs. The opposition group leans towards the concept of justice as 'Equality': rewards should be distributed as equal shares (Distributive justice). Justice is based on a sense of solidarity with the disadvantaged who need compensation. These differences have much to do with the degree of trust and distrust with regard to the top managers in the enterprise. And that is the result of different opportunities for interaction with such persons, which again depends on whether one is in the full-time or in the opposition group." (author's abstract)},
