(ICI)'The analysis of social systems by functionalist is to be selected as a-historical and pure interpretation, even subjective. The empirical analysis of social systems, e.g. complex health care systems, necessarily demands the analysis of social processes in history. But how to measure them, if the object of measurement is under change all over? The paper describes the kinetic methodology, formulated since 1972 and successfully practiced in a couple of studies. The construction of the instruments is shown as well as the theoretical deduction of results. Applications of this method are given, cited from scientific monographs on social history of medicine, quantification in pharmacy, body culture and professions.' (author's abstract)},
