"Why do people vote in elections even though their single vote is unlikely to bring about change? Experiments reveal two behavioral biases: when voting people think they will err less often than others (overconfidence), and they believe that their vote will be decisive for the outcome of the election with a significant probability, although the true probability is close to zero (illusion of control)."[author´s abastract]... view less
