Makro- und mikrosoziologische Beiträge zur Schizophrenieforschung: Versuch einer kritischen Bilanz

Abstract

'Im Rahmen dieses Aufsatzes wird zunächst das Schizophreniekonzept aus der soziologischen Perspektive skizziert. Im Anschluss daran werden einige epidemiologische Daten zu dieser Erkrankung dargestellt, die für eine soziologische Betrachtungsweise relevant sind. Es folgt ein kurzer, zum Teil historischer Überblick zur Relevanz dieses Themas innerhalb der Soziologie. Um die Rahmenbedingungen für soziologische Erklärungsaspekte der Schizophrenie darlegen zu können, wird das Vulnerabilitäts-Stress-Coping-Kompetenz-Modell von Liberman dargestellt werden, das die Ansatzpunkte für soziologische (Mit-) Erklärungen deutlich macht. Potentielle makrosoziale und mikrosoziale Bedingungsfaktoren werden vor dem Hintergrund dieses Modells diskutiert. Abschließend werden auf Basis der empirischen Befundlage mögliche psychosoziale Interventionsansätze skizziert und eine abschließende Bewertung der Stellung soziologischer Erklärungskonzepte vorgenommen.' 'This essay begins by sketching the concept of schizophrenia from a sociological point of view. Various epidemiological data on this condition which are relevant for a sociological consideration are then presented. This is followed by a brief, partially historical overview of the relevance of this subject matter within the context of sociology. To be able to show the framework conditions for sociological explanations of schizophrenia, the vulnerability stress coping competence model of Liberman is described, which indicates the starting points for sociological (co-)explanations of the illness. Potential macro-social and micro-social conditioning factors are discussed in the light of this model. Finally, on the basis of empirical findings, potential psychosocial intervention models are outlined, and a concluding assessment of the relevance of sociological explanation concepts is undertaken.'
