'Im Rahmen eines von der Volkswagenstiftung geförderten multimethodischen empirischen Forschungsprojekts zur 'Sozialen Devianz' als soziales Problem wird u. a. das Phänomen der Schwarzarbeit untersucht. Dabei zeigen sich in den qualitativen Interviews unterschiedliche strukturelle Bedingungen, divergierende Motivationslagen und heterogene Legitimationsstrategien. Zentrales Ergebnis ist die Tatsache, daß Schwarzarbeit keineswegs als illegal, sondern als notwendig funktional und gerechtfertigt erscheint.
