'Lernen in institutionalisierten Lernorten erhält im industriegesellschaftlichen Kontext seine Bedeutung vor allem in Hinblick auf das institutionell organisierte Statuspassagenmodell. Mit der Entgrenzung der Arbeitsgesellschaft wird diese institutionelle Bedeutungsstruktur brüchig und die Übergänge biographisieren sich. Damit kommt das Konzept der biographischen Übergänge ins Spiel, das eng mit der Bewältigungsperspektive verknüpft ist. Der Beitrag stellt vor diesem Hintergrund die Ergebnisse einer Untersuchung vor, die Übergangsverläufe junger Erwachsener mittels biographischer Interviews aus der bewältigungsorientierten Sicht rekonstruierte. Damit zeigt sich, dass heute Übergänge einer biographischen, bewältigungsorientierten Logik folgen und nicht einfach auf formale Bildungs- und Arbeitsstrukturen rückbezogen werden können.' 'Within the context of an industrialised society, learning in institutionalized locations gains in importance mainly from the focus on the model of status passages organised by institutions. But this institutional structure of relevance becomes fragile through the structural change of the working society. Therefore the concept of biographical transitions, which is intimately connected with the perspective focused on coping, comes to fore. Based on this background the article presents the results of a research project. This study reconstructed the course of transitions in the life of young adults via biographical interviews. It becomes obvious that transitions follow a biographical and on coping oriented logic. Transitions therefore cannot simply be reduced to formal structures of education and work.'
