(Autorenreferat)... view less

"This contribution introduces fuzzy-logic as a possibly new basis for sociology. After a general introduction to the basic principles of fuzzy-logic certain advantages are presented exemplarily, particularly for the empirical research considering as example the so called 'qualitative-comparative analysis' (QCA), and for the sociological theory concerning Hartmut Esser's theory of action. In sum, the application of fuzzy-logic promises sociology a more simple modelling of more complex facts than it has been possible so far." (author's abstract)... view less
