Abstract	'Der europäische Integrationsprozess hat zu vielen Verflechtungen zwischen den europäischen Gesellschaften geführt. In einer in diesem Artikel eingenommenen soziologischen Perspektive interessieren vor allem integrationsbedingt entstandene transnationale Arbeitsmarkt- und Sozialversicherungszusammenhänge. Deren Entstehen kann am Beispiel aktueller Entwicklungen in der österreichischen Bauwirtschaft analysiert werden. Es zeigt sich, dass der europäische Integrationsprozess bei den großen heimischen Bauunternehmen zu starken 'Ostexpansionsstrategien' geführt hat. Die daraus folgenden arbeitsweltlichen Konsequenzen für eine spezifische Gruppe von Arbeitnehmern werden anhand von Arbeitserfahrungen steirischer Bauarbeitnehmer auf Baustellen in Ost- und Südosteuropa nachgezeichnet.' (Autorenreferat) 'The European integration process has led to considerable interdependence between European societies. In the perspective of this article, the transnational interrelations of labour markets and social security caused by integration are of special interest. Their origin can be analysed by the example of current developments in the Austrian building industry. It is shown that the European integration process has led to strong expansion strategies of the big national building companies towards the East. Consequences related to a specific group of employees are outlined based on the example of work experiences of Styrian employees in the building industry at construction sites in Eastern and Southeastern Europe.'
