"Die vorliegende Arbeit fasst Ergebnisse einer im Jahr 2002 durchgeführten Erhebung zu den Themen Personalmanagement, Arbeitszufriedenheit und Motivation in Organisationen der mobilen Dienste der Altenbetreuung sowie in Alten- und Pflegeheimen zusammen. Die erhobenen Daten werden mit jenen des österreichischen Arbeitsklima-Index verglichen: Sie zeigen, dass die Arbeitszufriedenheit der Beschäftigten der untersuchten Organisationen deutlich unter dem österreichischen Durchschnitt liegt und Belastungen in vielen Bereichen signifikant höher sind. Neben Rahmenbedingungen, die insbesondere durch das Verhältnis zur öffentlichen Hand geprägt sind, ist teilweise auch mangelndes Personalmanagement für die prekäre Arbeitssituation verantwortlich." "The article reports about an empirical study of human resource management, job satisfaction and motivation in organizations of geriatric care in Vienna and Lower Austria, differentiating between the mobile and stationary services. The empirical data are compared with the general Austrian 'Work Climate Index'. Results suggest that employees, working in organizations that were covered by the study, are significantly more under pressure and less satisfied with their job than the average Austrian employee. General conditions, created by a particular relationship with the public sector, and a lack of human resource management should be regarded as responsible for the insufficient working conditions in geriatric care."
