"On November 15 and 16, 2007, the German Council on Foreign Relations (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik – DGAP) hosted a high-level conference in cooperation with the American Council on Germany (ACG) and the Council for the United States and Italy (CUSI). The DGAP’s Alfred von Oppenheim Center for European Policy Studies worked with American and Italian partners to bring together prominent decision-makers and commentators from business, politics, and journalism to assess the most important challenges confronting the transatlantic partners. The discussion was broadly oriented around two principal issues: the transatlantic economy and world trade, and common transatlantic foreign policy challenges." (excerpt)... view less
