Der Essay erkundet exemplarisch Spuren, Quellen und Lektüren, die Arendts Rezeption von Nietzsche kennzeichnen. Ihre frühe Nietzsche-Lektüre und die Interpretationen von Jaspers und Heidegger sind dabei wesentlich. Arendts Aneignung von Nietzsches Philosophieren im Horizont ihrer republikanischen politischen Theorie ist innovativ, aber trotz Distanz zu ihm auch problematisch. Es wird gezeigt, dass Nietzsche für eine Reihe von Themen (produktive Machtauffassung, agonale Politikkonzeption, Kritik der Mitleidstradition, Traditionsbruch) zentral war. The essay explores exemplary traces, sources and readings that characterize Arendt's reception of Nietzsche. Her early readings of Nietzsche and interpretations of Jaspers and Heidegger are essential to this. Arendt's appropriation of Nietzsche's philosophy within the horizon of her republican political theory is innovative, but also problematic despite her distance from him. It is shown that Nietzsche was central to a number of themes (productive conception of power, agonal political conception, criticism of the compassion tradition, break with tradition). Overall, Nietzsche proves to be a very important source of inspiration for Arendt's thinking and her style of thought.... view less
