'Regression analysis is one of the major research tools in the social sciences, but this technique is not often used to its full capacity. In most cases applications are restricted to linear additive models even though theoretical considerations may point to nonlinear and/or interactive models. In this article the substantive interpretation of interactive models is clarified and the often heard objections that interactive models are not suitable for interval level data and are vitiated by multicollinearity problems are shown to be unwarranted.'
