About Qualitative Research

Qualitative research is characterised by an approach to psychological, social and cultural reality which focuses on the meaning which individuals ascribe to phenomena. Methodologies include interviews, group discussions, observation and field research, etc. These methods play an important role when it comes to reconstructing, condensing, analysing and assessing material from everyday life. Qualitative research methods are employed in a wide range of disciplines, such as ethnology, criminology, linguistics, educational science, philosophy, psychology, sociology, history, music, politics, religious studies and sports science.
